Detective's Division
The Detective's Division continues to investigate major crimes such as sexual assaults, burglaries, child abuse, physical assaults, homicide, financial and internet crimes, as well as assisting the patrol division when necessary. Members of the division conduct bi-annual alcohol compliance checks as well as annual tobacco compliance checks and assist the Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension with narcotics investigations by providing video and audio surveillance and recording of undercover narcotics purchases.
The trend toward violent crimes continues to increase along with computer crimes and internet crimes and financial crimes. Members of the Detectives' Division continue to strive to be proactive in these areas of investigation. Members of the division routinely conduct complicated criminal investigations for the smaller police departments in the area.
